I, Robot (2004)

I thought this movie was going to be yet another Will Smith film with him acting as the same character he usually plays. I was wrong. Yes he does play nearly the same character, but he has a detective side as well. It works. And the plot is very well done.
Here's the story. A cyber-phobic policeman is called to the scene of a supposed suicide. The victim is a world famous inventor of robots and past acquaintance of Spooner, Will Smith's character. What happens next is one of the most intriguing science fiction mysteries I've ever seen. The acting is top notch, the plot is very interesting, and there is action to be had. I won't say any more about the plot because this movie is so good, I don't want to spoil any of it. One of the best science fiction films of 2004, and one of my favorites ever.
